So excited to bring back the Refashion Show this year!

This aspect of the festival aims to show off some garments that are helping divert textiles from landfills!

The Refashion Show will take place on the first night of the festival, Friday July 12th at 7pm ET on the main stage.

PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMITTING

This is a showcase event, *NOT* a competition. We are celebrating all skill levels and creativity!

Created items may be offered for sale, but do not have to be. They can also be items created in the past at any time, no limit on when it was made!

Accessories or garments that are being showcased as refashion should be around 80% reused/reclaimed materials. This does not have to be an entire outfit, but could be a hat or single garment etc. Reclaimed materials can be, but are not limited to:
     Worn out clothing
     Clothing/textiles not appropriate for donation/resale
Leftover sections of fabric not sizeable enough for entire garment
Creative sources of "material" (old magazines? Recyclables etc)
Basically anything diverted from a landfill

We encourage people to model the work themselves or arrange for their own models. There needs to be one model per garment - this is to ensure the show moves along at a steady pace as we may get a lot of applicants. Please complete one form per creator, regardless of how many items you make.

Participants should arrive at 6:30pm to begin lining up for the show. We will NOT have a space for you to change on site, so please have yourself and your models dressed in showcased items upon arrival.

When arriving at the stage Katie will be there to organize order of appearance.

We are hoping to accommodate all people interested. However, if there are many entries there is a possibility we will need to cap the number of participants.

Participants signing up will be asked to fully commit by July 1st.

There will also be co-working meet-ups at MSU Surplus Store & MSU Recycling Center for people who want assistance or just like working together. The meet-ups will be Friday June 7th, Friday June 14th, and Friday June 28th, all of them 10am - 2pm ET.

Please note - Discrimination of any kind through your garment will not be tolerated. This includes discrimination that masks itself as a political stance. If we determine that your finished garment is discriminatory or exclusionary in any way, it will not be showcased. If you have an idea and aren't sure or have any questions about this, please email Mike (mike@scrapfest.com) or Heather (heather@scrapfest.com).
